Grading Information
What The Part Grades Mean
The Ford Certified Used Parts grading system provides full transparency, so you know exactly what you're getting before your purchase. Graded for fit, function, and cosmetic condition, Ford Certified Used Parts give you the confidence of OEM-quality performance
Every part sold through the Ford Certified Used Parts Webstore is inspected by trained technicians to ensure it meets strict quality standards and that it is fit for purpose and fully functional, regardless of grade.
Grade Overview
Grade A — “As New” Condition
Parts in Grade A condition show minimal signs of previous use. Cosmetic appearance is close to new, and functionality is fully intact. This grade is ideal if you want a part with a premium look and strong value compared to buying new.
Grade B — With slight aesthetic defects
Parts in Grade B condition may show minor cosmetic wear, such as light scuffs or surface marks, but remain fully functional and reliable. Any parts that are cosmetic with damage, such as noticeable scratches or dents, will be clearly marked on the part with a yellow chalk circle. This grade offers an excellent balance between price and appearance.
For each graded product, the customer will be shown the exact part being offered for sale, including its condition and any visible imperfections, prior to completing the purchase. This allows for an informed and transparent buying decision.
What The Grading Covers
The Ford Certified Used Parts grades assess:
- Cosmetic appearance
- Physical condition
- Operational functionality at the time of inspection
All graded parts meet quality and usability standards.
What The Grades Do Not Guarantee
Grades reflect the condition at the time of inspection and do not guarantee:
- Exact cosmetic appearance or colour matching
- Compatibility with modified or non-standard vehicles
- The future lifespan of a part beyond normal expected use
- Freedom from minor cosmetic imperfections consistent with used parts
- Normal wear consistent with prior use does not constitute a fault unless it affects functionality or materially differs from the product description.
Visual Wear — What to Expect from Ford Certified Used Parts
As the parts are pre-owned or refurbished, some cosmetic wear should be expected. Examples may include:
- Light scratches or scuffs
- Minor fading or surface mark
- Signs of previous installation or handling
These characteristics are typical of used parts and do not affect performance unless otherwise stated.
Inspection & Quality Assurance Process
All Ford Certified Used Parts are checked and assessed before sale to confirm they meet quality standards. Only parts deemed functional and suitable for resale are offered through our store.
Warranty & Grading
All graded parts are covered by our warranty, regardless of cosmetic condition. Grading relates to appearance and condition only and does not reduce your statutory rights or warranty protection. For more information on warranty, please find it here
Compatibility & Fitment Responsibility
Customers are responsible for ensuring that a part is compatible with their specific vehicle before purchasing. If you are uncertain about fitment, please contact Customer Support customerservice@autonative.com prior to placing your order and they will be happy to assist.
Returns Related to Grade Expectations
For each graded product, customers will be shown the exact part being offered for sale, including its condition and any visible wear, via the images provided. These images, together with the assigned grade and accompanying grading information, form an integral part of the product description. Returns or claims relating solely to cosmetic condition may be declined where the part’s appearance is consistent with its grade and the displayed images. Customers are responsible for reviewing both the grading details and product images before completing their purchase to ensure an informed and transparent buying decision.
